I have a Wholde Body PET scan that I am needing a DX for. Patient has Medicare insurance with a PI status she is coming in with concern for lung masses. Report negative and I can not use abnormal chest 793.19 per it is not on the new guidelines. I want to use V71.1 does everyone know if that would be a problem to use that DX.

If the purpose of the test was to check the lung mass for malignancy and the report is negative then yes V71.1 is an appropriate dx code.
