We are a multi-speciality Oncology physician group that is located in a hospital. We bill 96040 for medical genetics counseling. Is there any other code to use for phone counseling regarding genetic studies.

Please help!!! any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

the only phone codes in the book are the 99441-99443 for the physician and the 98966-98968 for any other qualfied medical persons. These are are for calls that must be generated/initiated by the patient or guardian of the patient. look in you CPT book for the other rules regarding these codes.
