I have an office billing E stim on patients (97014 CPT) and
for the initial visit for the E stim are also billing the A4595 E stim
supplies for the pads used. I explained to the provider this was not
correct billing that the pads would be included in the service. He is
not willing to accept this information telling me they bill this all the
time. I did go back at look at some accounts they billed this for and
some insurances actually paid this and others applied to the pt's
deductible. (These are not going as supplies for a Tens unit, it's for
the pads used when the pt has E stim in the office) Does anyone have any
source they can site me on this to support my stand that it's a part of
the procedure, or am I wrong?
