Medicare patient billed 97530 x 2 with the GP modifier. have used this code for the cpt 97530 for many years and now medicare eob comes back stating incorrect modifier, I believe the code was co-16 and n575. I have looked up the code with the modifiers usable and it states the gp modifier is still acceptable. Any change I should be aware of?

Did it also need a KX or 59 Modifier?

Add a mod 59 to it & it will process.

For 2013 it was just 97530 x 2 with a gp modifier. More than likely a change for 2014, just have to find it. I will try that 59 mod, thank you!
