If I have non-medicare pt, and he is under MD plan of care. A PTA performs under a licensed PT. We have whirlpool 97022 and therapeutic massage 97124, 1 unit each. Do we need the GP and/or the 59 modifiers for this case? Help.:o
 
I would say yes to the GP modifier but I don't see the need for a 59 modifier on either. Whirlpool only needs a 59 modifier with 97112, 97113, and 97597
Massage gets a 59 with 97150.
