According to the Palmetto GBA LCD, the physical therapy codes that I would code with "d" are actually coded with "s" as the 7th digit. Does anyone have any insight on subsequent verses sequela when it comes to therapy and why they are listed that way with Palmetto GBA? It contradicts everything I have read.

According to the Palmetto GBA LCD (future), physical therapy codes (particularily chapter 19 codes) are coded with "s" as the 7th digit. Does anyone have any insight on subsequent verses sequela when it comes to therapy and why they are listed that way with Palmetto GBA? My understanding of the giudelines in the ICD-10 book would suggest that we would also use subsequent (possibly more than sequela.)
Any insight at all would be very much appreciated.
