Hello. I'm having an issue with the attending not attesting to their discharge summaries. The residents documents the Discharge summary and the attending just signs it. They are saying they already attested to the progress note done for the same day so they don't need to attest to the discharge summary. I was always told that the discharge should be signed and attested. Can anyone clarify and include references if available. Thanks in advance.
