physician hand-off

I found the answer to this question ... but can't seem to delete the question.



This question keeps coming up in our office and I can not find any documentation to support either side of the argument.

If we have one physician that starts a case, then hands-off to another physician .... which provider is entered as the attending?

Is it who starts the case? or who was in the room the longest time?

We are located in Texas. I REALLY appreciate any direction you can offer.
