Can someone please assist with this?
I can only find a CPT code for MCP joint capsulodesis (26516) but what do you use for PIP joint capsulodesis? Can you use this same code?
The operative report reads as follows:
Attention is turned to the ring and middle fingers where mid-lateral incisions are performed. The volar plate was identified and elevated while taking care to protect the flexor tendons and radial ulnar digital arteries and nerves, a MicroMite suture anchor was predrilled, placed and associated suture limbs were used to advance the volar plate holding at the proximal interphalangeal joint in approximately 30 degrees of flexion, excellent strength of this was noted.
Would you possibly use 26525 even though it only states capsulectomy or capsulotomy?
