I have a debate going with my supervisor regarding the correct place of service code to use. The situation is this: Our clinic owns an ASC; our Rheumatotogist will see a patient in his office then the patient will go to the ASC "area" (all in the same building) where they receive an IV infusion or push (i.e. remicade). What is the correct place of service for the administration of the drug? I think ASC, she says office because "it is not a surgical procedure and Dr. W oversees the nursing staff". Any thoughts, opinions, guidance is much appreciated!!
