I have a case where the surgeon removed a 14 x 15 thoracoabdominal wall mass. The mass was removed, however, to repair the site, the surgeon used 3 x 6 inch double layered prolene Mesh. What code would I use for this?? I've been led to cpt 49568, however, it states that is for hernia repairs...and of course this is not the case. Can I still use that code??? Or, would the mesh (or any repair) be included if I code the removal of the mass with cpt 22905?
