When chart auditing is there a set price to go by or can you charge $250 a hour ...lol.. Charts are not detailed and have already been reviewed by another coder:d please help!!
 
When we have hired outside vendors to do mass chart auditing we pay per note/encounter audited. Depending on the complexity the price can vary greatly. The rates we have been charge have ranged from $3.80 to $12.00 per encounter. So if you are charging $12 a pop and are fairly industrious you can bring in way more than $250 an hour.
