I don't code ENT much and this one has me stumped.
Pt has "canal stenosis" the procedure note reads as follows:
The patient was placed under the microscope and the left ear was debrided. The left canal was suctioned and the opening of the tympanic membrane was suctioned. Mupirocin ointment was instilled into the ear lateral to the tympanic membrane. Approximately 0.25 cc of Lidocaine 1% with 1:100,000 Epinephrine in a buffered solution was injected anterosuperiorly in the scar band. The laser was used at the A6 setting at 4 watts and a portion of this was lasered away encompassing approximately one-fourth to one-fifth of the canal. The ear was suctioned. etc...
I am not sure what code to use for the lasering of the canal. All suggestion are greatly appreciated!!!!!
