More information is required. Is the the patients initial encounter? What the fall from ie stairs, ladder , roof? Where did the fall happen, ie home, work?
For the injury look under injury or tear rotator cuff. For the fall use the index to external causes and look under fall, for place look under place

Hi, with ICD-10 you will have to ask the physician for more information. Traumatic rotator cuff tears start with S46.42 then you will need to know which side LT or RT and initial or subsequent visits.. after which you can assign the rest of the code. The fall will be coded starting with W and adding Z or Y codes depending on further information.
