Wiki Please Help With 62273 Blood Patch

I am trying to bill for a blood patch - I have coded the 62273 however, I need to know if the time and base units are part of this code or if it is just for the placement of the needle and there is an additional anesthesia code that goes with it. Please help!!!!!!!

Are you talking about a blood patch for a spinal headache after an epidural injection? If so the code 62273 and the fluro guidance if used would be 77003-26. However this is if you are billing for the physician. It may be applicable to bill for the Anethesia if general was used, however the pain management physician I work for only uses Versed so I bill this 99144. I hope this helps.
