Hi -Wondering if someone would help with the following:
EGD,BX of duodenum, Cold Bx and polypectomy with cold bx bites.
Thinking it would just be the 43239 TIA
Deb, CPC

EGD, Bx of duodenum

Did the doctor actually do a gastric polypectomy? If so, when I code for polypectomy
(43251), the polyp is always sent to pathology, not necessary to code for the biopsy also. Or did the doc just do a Bx of the duodenum? If so, (43239) would be what I would use.

It sounds as if you have two interventions (cold biopsy and snare). Billing for both depends if the interventions were on separate lesions/polyps. If you have different interventions on different lesions, it would be coded as 43251, 43239-59.
