Hello,

I am looking for some answers about determining the class finding modifiers (Q7, Q8, Q9) for routine foot care. Specifically Class B findings, atrophic changes. Would you count the atrophic changes per foot? For instance, the pt has three atrophic changes on the right foot and the left foot was found to have the same atrophic changes. Would that qualify for 2 class B findings with changes to both feet? Any suggestions/answers would be great.

Thanks

My understanding is that you only get to count they same type of atrophic change once not for each occurrence. You can not count nail changes (thickening) only once when occurring in both left and right foot. But that can work for you if you have changes in one foot but not in the other you do get to count that change. This is helpful when only one foot has an absent posterior tibial pulse and/or absent dorsalipedis pulse.
