Diagnosis: Contact dermatitis due to poison ivy

How can I determine the correct dx code for poison ivy dermatitis if provider is not stating irritant (L23.7) or allergic ( L24.7)? Ive read that poison ivy is always considered allergic because of the oily resin called urushiol. I am not sure if this is a true fact. Please advise.

The index has a default code of L25.5 if it isn't specified in documentation as allergic or irritant.
