Provider removed an endometrial polyp during a c-section. I am at a lost on how to code this any help is appreciated.

A large endometrial polyp (2 cm in diameter, 4 cm long) noted arising from posterior uterine segment and prolapsing through cervix. Cervix about 3 cm dilated. The polyp was suture ligated at its base and removed with Bovie. Polyp and placenta sent for pathology.

There is no code for this unless removed via a hysteroscope so I would suggest you add a modifier -22 to the delivery code. I am assuming the path came back as a polyp and not leiomyoma.
