Does anyone know the correct POS code to use when a provider treats a homeless patient on the street? These are patients who do not stay at a shelter so we cannot use POS 04. They do have insurance that we can file but no physical home address. Thanks in advance.
 
They are not bringing them into a mobile unit or anything, right? I think POS- 99 Other, if not. There's also 16 - Temporary lodging if it was in a tent or something or an RV possibly.
 
No, they are not bringing them into a mobile unit. I was thinking POS 99 as well but needed some reassurance since that code is very vague. Thank you for replying. It is greatly appreciated.
 
You're welcome. Unless a payer tells you there is something else they want to see (Medicaid) there's really nothing else to use I think.
