Patient presents to ER with knee pain, 8 week s/p knee replacement. Physician documents as diagnoses: anterior knee pain and post-op knee pain (acute on chronic).

Would I be correct to code 338.28 & 719.46?

Thanks for any help.
 
remember the new rule for 2012 is you cannot use a complication code unless the provider indicates that the problem is a complication of the surgery. Look at the guidelines effective Oct 1 2011. So Depending on the documentation either answer is correct.
