Hello, I have a general question regarding post-op visit coding. There are 2 codes V47.89 and Z98.890 that I use on a daily basis but am trying to figure out if there is a timeline to use one or the other? Generally if a patient is in their post-op period I have been using the V47.89 and if the 90 days is up then Z98.890. However, there are some insurances that don't like either one. I just want to verify what other coders use?
