i have a pt who had bypass surgery on nov 1. went home on nov 4 and while at home fell complaining of abd pain and fall. was admitted to the hospital nov 6-9. would this be considered post op or can i put a modifier on this to see if the insurance company will pay?

Billable if you can justify modifier -24: Unrelated E/M by the same dr during a global.

Remember, different DX doesn't necessarily mean unrelated as it could be a complication of the procedure that has the global.
