I can't figure out how to code an anterior cervical post-operative hematoma and need some expertise, please.
This lady had a C4-C7 anterior arthrodesis with cage, discectomies, etc. She was taken to the recovery room, BP shot through the roof and they made the decision to return immediately to the OR. She was re-intubated, surgical wound reopened and hematoma evacuated.
Can someone please help me? This was actually left by the previous billers, as they apparently couldn't find a code either, and the event was in May of 2012. Thanks for your help!
