so patient is status post hematoma evacuation...came into er for diaphoreses, bradycardia, and hypotension. Dr was consulted for post op evaluation. It is within the global. Is this billable? My thoughts are that it is not but there's nothing wrong with a second opinion;)

Is the provider that was consulted in the same practice as the surgeon? If they are within the same practice, I do not believe that you should bill for the post-operative visit. If they are in different practices, then it may be appropriate to bill the visit with either modifier 24 or modifier 55 depending on whether or not the visit was directly related to post-operative care.
