Our doctor's have EKG done often for a post procedure for ex MI patient that stent was done. I put in dx code of Z48.812 (encounter for surgical aftercare following surgery on the circulatory system). I then put in the MI code. Not sure if I am putting the dx code in the correct order. I know with cardiac clearance for pts having surgery the Z code is primary. Would anyone know if the Z code for the EKG is primary or secondary?
