Hi everyone I have a headache question. When is the code for post traumatic headache changed to Acute 339.21 or chronic 339.22.Is there a time frame? Thanks a lot.

Wouldn't this be something that your provider would determine upon patient evaluation/examination? I don't think there's a particular "time frame".

Suzanne is correct. The coding guidelines state that acute or chronic must be stated by the provider and cannot be calculated by the coder based on time.
