I'm new to Neuro Surgery and have this situation: Posterior Thoracic surgery on T4 - T8:
1. 63046 + 63048 X2.......Laminectomy T4,T6,T8 With
2. 63281 x 2 ..........................HemiLaminectomy w/ excison of malignant tumor on T5 and T7
3. 63085...................................Corpectomy w/decompression T6
4. 22610 + 22614 x4.......Arthrodesis T4-T8
5. 22853 x4............................Instrumentation T4 - T8
6. 22843..................................Pedical Screw Fixation (8 Screws)
7. 20930..................................Allograft fusion T4-T8
dx: c41.2, c79.51, c34.2, M54.8, G89.
Assessment:
1. Thoracic 6 spinal tumor with nerve root compression and canal compromise. Will need Thoracic 6 corpectomy and Thoracic 4 to 8 decompression and fusion.
2. Thoracic pain
3. History of lung cancer
4. Left upper lobectomy for lung cancer
5. Chronic pain syndrome.
Patient has large metastatic malignant tumor at Thoracic 6 with spinal cord compression and nerve root entrapment. History of lung cancer status post chemotherapy radiation therapy making wound healing somewhat difficult. History of recurrent infections. Hx of left upper lobectomy from lung cancer, Thoracic pain, chronic pain syndrome.
Does this coding look correct? How would you code this?
