Wiki Posterior upper calf popliteal exploration

A patient presented to our office for a painful lump on his posterior calf. My doctor felt it was either a Baker's cyst or a lipoma. Upon exploration, neither a cyst, lipoma, or mass of any kind was found. All he found was a midline lesser saphenous vein varicosity, which he divided and ligated. I believe the code I can use for the ligation is 37780, (separate procedure). However, most of the work he did was mainly exploratory; much more work than a varicose vein ligation, is there a code that may best describe this procedure?
