All-

I am reaching out to see if anyone else is adjusting their allowables because of a Medicare Sequestration adjustment.
When the ERA comes over, for an example, the allowable is $105.97 and the sequestration adjustment is $1.70, the sequestration is posting properly to the adjustment column but, the payment posters are then adjusting the allowable to be $104.27.
Is anyone else manually changing the allowables?
I am just reaching out to verify because our EMR vendor has asked why this is being done.

Thanks,

Kim

You should not be adjusting the allowed. You should be adjusting the paid only by 2%. Your EMR company should definitely be on top of this. I hope this is helpful :)
