I have patient who had a skin cancer removal at another facility. Apparently they didn't close the wound because they were waiting for pathologist and pt got upset and left. Now he comes to our ED for closure of the surgical wound. Any ideas on how to code this one? Thank you!
 
Oddly enough, I had a similar situation a very long time ago. We debated between the secondary wound closer vs. a normal "traumatic" wound closer. We went with the "traumatic" wound closer with a v-code as a secondary code, I believe the postop complication.
