A patient had a hernia repair. He had to remain in the hospital a few extra days because of postoperative nausea & vomiting. He was discharged but then returned the next day due to postoperative nausea & vomiting. The physician is trying to bill an inpatient admit, subsequent hospital visit & discharge. The physician specifically states this was postoperative nausea & vomiting. Can those charges be billed?
