Questioning what procedure to code? 10140 or 10160! Help please:confused:

The patient continues to have swelling around her axiallry incisions. Are under axilla is firm and slightly red from skin streching, but improved since last seen on Wednesday. No pain or fever. Seroma was drained again today. Area was cleaned with betadine and injected with 1% lidocaine. Once good anesthesia was achieved a 16 g needle was inserted and approximately 100cc serosanguinous fluid ws removed. She tolerated this well. The area was covered with a 4x4s and tape. Will change dressing as need.

I had chosen 10160 for the procedure but another colleague is thinking 10140?

Can I get some insight please.

Thank you,
Debi
