Question 20
The patient presents at the office to discuss her recent Pap smear result showing LGSIL. The physician indicates a diagnosis of dysplasia. Which of the following is the correct diagnosis for this encounter?
A. R87.612
B. N87.9
C. R87.622
D. N87.8

I select B N87.9 but this is marked wrong... why?

Thanks for any rationale you can provide!

is this from AAPC? Seems odd that 1 of the codes are invalid. Did it say which one is correct? There should be some sort of rationale listed in the exam results.

You should code based on pathology results. If a diagnosis is provided by provider without labs to support then you code signs and symptoms.

So based on the info you provided, I would have used LGSIL.
