Hi,

I was wondering what code to use for an xray of a patient who is screened for metal with a history of possible exposure and having an MRI.

Any suggestions?

billing / admin

We bill using Z13.5 for eye disorder screening and Z03.89 for suspected condition not found. If the patient had a metal fragment previously removed, I add Z87.821. I haven't gotten any denials from insurance companies or workers' comp using these codes.
