WE HAVE PATIENTS THAT COME HERE FOR PRE-OP SCREENING THAT NEED CLEARANCE FOR SURGERY FOR DENTAL CAVITIES. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY LUCK GETTING THESE TYPE OF CLAIMS PAID? MASSHEALTH USED TO PAY THESE BUT NOW WILL NOT. WE HAVE BILLED THEM W/V72.84 AND 521.00. SHOULD WE BILL THEM AS A SICK VISIT OR CONSULTATION?? ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED. :o

Pre-operative visit

You need to use appropriate E/M level code 99201-05 (new patient ) or 99211-15 ( established patient ) to code for Pre-op evaluation visit with primary icd V72.84 & secondary as 521.00.

We are billing the same way, we are getting paid.
