Pain mangement doctor wants to know if he can bill for pregnancy test that he performs to patients before he does the pain mangement procedure in his office...

Has anyone done this? If so what do you use?
 
preg test before procedure

I don't see why not-in our pain management office we bill a urine drug test to ensure compliance with pain meds, so I don't see how a pregnancy test would be any different. In our office we use the reason for the pain management visit as the diagnosis for the drug screen, so you could try that or just the pre-op ICD v72.83. I would use CPT 81025 for a urine pregnancy test.
