A pregnant patient visits with Hypertension and Edema.
646.13 - Edema or excessive weight gain in pregnancy without mention of hypertension
As the patient is previously hypertensive, I used the code , 642.73.
Is there any additional dx we need to use with 642.73?

I think 642.73 is not appropriate in this case as Pt. does not have preeclampsia, only documented hypertension so 642.93 will be more appropriate in this case and no need to report any additional code with that.

The only problem with 642.93 is it states without mention of edema. I think the physician will need to be queried with this one as it is not clear exactly what the correct choice should be.
