The radiologist in my practice wants to do a preliminary x-ray before he does an MRI to ensure he is not injecting contrast into a calculus. There is no order form from the referring physician for this extra procedure. I've been looking on the American College of Radiology guidelines, but I don't see anything pertaining to my question. Is it okay for him to do the preliminary x-ray? thanks for help
