I'm confused, I need help. We are dealing with Worker's comp and our surgeon that works in the same group ask or do a preop clearance/consult with one of our internal med doctor which is also in the same group. We normally bill these with a 99241-99244. My question is, if our preop dr has done a preop consult 3 months ago for the patient to be cleared for a knee problem, then patient comes back to do another preop to be cleared with a shoulder problem, can we still bill this as a pre op consult (99241-99244). Please let me know, please help! Thanks you guys, in advance.
