I have a question we are using procedure pass in EPIC. and sometimes then the provider/crna will order an EKG done prior to the patient's surgical procedure. the ekg is only done for preoperative reason. For example patient had EGD and Colonoscopy performed with a preoperative EKG. CPT code 93005 does bundle with 43239 and 45380. The EKG is performed by the Respiratory dept. are we allowed to bill 93005 with modifier 59 if done as preoperative on the same day of procedure?
