have a patient with rectal cancer who had a presacral abcess due to low anastamosis disruption.
MD drained abcess and placed a foley catheter as a drain that patient will continue to wear as the abcess heals.
the plan now is for the MD to take him back to the OR several times in the next few months to do a wash out of the abcess cavity and replace the drain.
He doesn't plan to use anoscope. Just anal retractor.
suggestion for how to code?
Procedure hasn't been done yet- so I have no documentation to show. The authorizations specialist in his clinic is asking for a CPT to help with a PA.
