CPT book is showing that the preventative codes 99381-99397 are non covered is this true? if so what codes do we use?

This is not true - these codes are not covered by Medicare, but they are covered by many other payers.

For Medicare the annual physical is not a covered benefit. There aren't any exact replacement codes for this service that can be billed, so if this what was performed for a Medicare payment, then the patient (or their secondary plan) will be responsible for payment. But Medicare does cover some other preventive services for which there are different codes available.
