i work at a private practice providers office (pos 11). one of our doctors now has surgery privileges at a hospital and just did her first outpatient surgery there.
we should use pos 22 "outpatient hospital - on campus"
my questions
- do i need modifiers for this? im thinking 26
- icd-10-pcs would only be used by the hospital itself yes? we would still use icd-10-cm because we are still billing from the providers office prospective?
- is there anything else that we would need to do differently?

POS will be 22 you do not need modifier 26, you are still billing on a CMS 1500 form that designates your provider. The facility (hospital) bills using a UB form. Charges, post them the same as if you were doing in the office only difference is the 22 place of service code.
