Can anyone help with a procedure code for the following? Chrry angioma is the diagnosis -- Would I code dx of wound and 12001?
I infiltrated the area with 1% lidocaine with epinephrine. I was unable to obtain any hemostasis with this. Next we placed a Surgicel gauze and direct pressure over this for almost 1/2 an hour. Again he had recurrent bleeding. I repeated the injection and Surgicel with no improvement. Ultimately I used a silver nitrate stick and was able to quickly cauterize the lesion. Surgicel and direct pressure were applied again with hemostasis obtained.
