I know we all love Medicare and billing Procrit, but I have a question that I am hoping someone can answer 
I bill for a large oncology practice and we give Procrit regularly. I code with the 285.29 , as most of our patients are still on chemo and therefore can not use the anemia of cancer dx.
My question...should I be using a modifier EC or EA? I have been using EA, which means chemo induced, but then I am not using the chemo induced dx code. Medicare has been paying fine, but I want it to be correct..we all know that even if Medicare pays, it doesnt mean it was coded correctly.
