Our midwives poses a question....
They sometimes stay 24+ hours with their patients until the baby is delivered. Some other provider told them they could bill for prolonged care, but I don't think so. Isn't is just part of the global package? I'm not sure and was hoping there was an expert out there.

prolonged care codes are to be used with evaluation and management codes, if the mid wife is charging the delivery, than no, you may not bill this service.
