I work for a pathologist. He has been asked by a hospital where he works to convert the prothrombin time into INR using a mathmatical formula. He has been told it is necessary for Medicare compliance, but I can't find where Medicare has said anything of the sort. Is this a Medicare policy or a hospital policy?
