Can the owner/practitioner of a practice bill personal insurance if he is being seen by his employee?

Wiki Provider being seen by another provider in clinic

This should not be a problem as along as the claim is being billed with other MD or practitioners NPI. The only problem would be if the claim is being billed under their NPI number. Other than that the owner can seek treatment like any other patient; documentation, care, and billing would be the same regardless of a relationship to the office.
