I need your help. Our psychiatrist always stays at our office until 9:30 calling patients, returning their phone calls regarding their situation. Our doctor normally stay on the phone for almost 30 mins with patient giving them phone consultation regarding their situation and medication needed. Is there a code that can we use for this phone consultation or ? Can our doctor bill for this as she is giving service and spending 30 mins with the patient.? Please advise.

You can not bill 90804, etc as if they were seen face to face.
There are a few phone call codes, but there are several guidelines around them and I dont think many payors are paying them at this time.
